The BarnOwl Insurance Data Warehouse (IDW) acquires data specified in the BarnOwl Policy & Claims Source Data Requirements. The specification has been in the market since 2008 and caters for both Commercial and Personal lines and includes most product types. The specification is constantly updated to cater for the requirement of the South African insurance industry and regulatory requirements set by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).

New Insurance Management Systems (IMS) are continuously becoming compliant and taken through our mature onboarding process, which is executed by our team of highly experienced and knowledgeable insurance data experts.

Our data acquisition strategy of working closely with the IMS providers to supply the data as opposed to us collecting the data directly has proven far more successful and isn’t subject to interpretation of an unlimited number of data models and susceptible to numerous errors from IMS provider updates and data model changes impacting a direct connection.

This is all possible due to the industry data standard we have developed in close partnership with the IMS providers over the past 16 years. Data from IMS providers can be collected in a single data set comprising both policy and claims or individually as separate data sets from different IMS’s.

If you need help getting data from your Partner's IMS providers contact us for a demo.
